Dessert Day : Carbo loading @ Serai Empire

I am not a dessert fan.. I rather eat savory thing than cakes and such. But there are times when I do enjoy dessert, pudding / jelly / mousse type especially.

Last Friday was indeed a makan day. I went for lunch with my colleagues to Dave Deli Subang Parade, and decided later on to have dessert with two of them for dinner. They suggested Upstairs, which is located at the row of shop lots near Sime Darby Medical Centre, but there was no parking then. So we changed the location to Serai @ Empire.

Let us talk about the dessert sold at Serai. Serai has quite a number of cakes selection, but I only tasted one - the pavlova. I saw they have red velvet and carrot cake too. As I am not a dessert fan, I hardly glance at their cake counter most of the time.

I wrote in here that Mr D loves pavlova very much, and he does love Serai's pavlova as well. But Mr D is on a strict diet nowadays (as a result of his recent blood test), so pavlova is a big no no for him. But F, my colleague, did have pavlova specifically in mind when we stepped into Serai last Friday. So pavlova it was for her. As usual, I can eat Serai's pavlova, but it is not my favorite. The crust is too sweet to my liking. It kills me if I don't eat it with that sour strawberry.

I went for goreng pisang this time, one of my favorite in Serai. Many thought it is crazy to spend that much on goreng pisang, which we can definitely buy at a much cheaper price at various stalls, but I like it anyway. The difference is, many of the goreng pisang sold outside are a little too oily, and it is kind of difficult to find a crunchy one like this. I really like the batter. It is really crunchy. And the inner part of the banana is nice, because the banana has a little sour taste in it, which suits the batter really well. This goreng pisang is served with gula merah / gula melaka, but I never pour it on my goreng pisang simply because I will hate it if it is too sweet. And I just eat the ice cream separately because I don't want it to spoil the crunchiness of the goreng pisang. Yummy!

And presenting, the pistachio creme brulee. This is my first try of creme brulee in Serai. Not bad, not at all. The only drawback is the caramel on top is a little too hard, perhaps because it is too thick. Otherwise, it is good.

When I am in the mood to try dessert next time, I'll try others.

Breakfast @ Kosit Hotel Hat Yai

There's nothing much I want to write about actually... cumanya nak cakap betapa murahnya price of food at Kosit Hotel, Hat Yai ni. This is at the cafe downstairs.

The picture above was our breakfast. How much do you think it costs us? It was 80 baht per pax (about RM8.00) for 2 half boiled eggs, 2 pieces of toasts with jam and butter, a glass of orange juice and tea / coffee. OK lah tu kan? Hotel ni dalam 2 bintang je kot, but was OK enough. Basic things are there. Price untuk standard room pun tak sampai RM80. Nak expect macam 5 star tak dapek lah kan, but comfortable enough for a short stay.

Going Pakistani @ Restoran Menara USJ 9

We were going round and round searching for food the other night, when we finally bumped into a Pakistani restaurant at USJ 9 business centre, right at the corner of Jln USJ 9/5P which is very near to Masjid Al-Falah. I am not a fan of indian food, but I do sometimes enjoy some of their food for as long as it doesn't have too strong curry smell in it.

The name of the restaurant though, doesn't suggest that it is a Pakistani restaurant. Restoran Menara, how about that? Sound Malay enough huh? The ambiance of the restaurant is OK, but Mr D complaint about the smell, which I thought is quite normal in an Indian restaurant.

Looking at the menu, they have quite a variety of things from kebab to tandoori to beryani.. but we were not into rice then and thought of having some nan - so garlic nan it was. But we decided to take only 1 nan to be shared between the two of us, turn out to be a wise choice since the nan is quite huge to be eaten by one.

We settled for some grilled fish, chicken and mix vegetable - I love the mix vegetable this time. I normally do not like the vege served at indian restaurants because they are normally overcooked, but the mix vegetable served at this restaurant was cooked just nice. Not too raw but not overcooked either. It was served hot, sizzling hot really. The waiter suggested we take a type of savory chicken which I can't remember what is it called. Mr D enjoyed that very much.

Pricing wise, it is in middle range. Many of the menu I've chosen above ranges from RM15-RM25 per plate. Not bad, considering the portion and taste.

D Joho - Noodles selection from Johor

This is the naughty part we did on Monday - eating close to midnight. So don't be surprise if we gain weight soon.
I came back from office hungry, and as usual, Mr D suggested the stalls near Metro bus depot at USJ 8. We normally eat at La Kasturi, but since it was closed, so Mr D suggested to eat at D Joho. We've never tried D Joho, so this is basically a trial session.

D Joho basically sells many types of noodles - especially the one yg Johor based. Mee rebus, laksa Johor, mee kari, soto etc. Mr D opted for mee rebus while I just had the mee kari.

The above is Mr D's plate - not very nice he said, though it is edible. I tasted the gravy and thought it has some strange taste. It does has the dried prawn's taste, but I can't explain why the gravy tasted very strange.

And this is my plate of mee kari. At a glance, it looks very similar to Mr D's mee rebus huh? Mr D thought we ordered the same thing. This mee kari has a full egg, full of shredded chicken and beef, with a generous amount of vegetables and bean sprout - which I like. But I don't like the taste of the gravy, too sweet to my liking. It doesn't taste like there's any chilli added, seriously, it is rather too sweet.

So all in all, I probably will not order these 2 the next time. If ever we have to eat here, I probably will try their soto or laksa Johor next.

Ikan Bakar Umbai : NO!! to Gerai Kita Number 5

The night we were in Malacca, Mr D asked whether I want to go to Umbai for dinner. So after Maghrib we went to Umbai to find that famous ikan bakar. When we reached there, the place is already crowded. We didn't want to wait, so instead of going to the Parameswara, we chose whichever stall located nearer to the parking lot.

We entered stall no 5 - named Gerai Kita. That's after being persuaded by the owner / worker (I guess only lah haa). So we thought - OK, not bad, there are many people here, somebody must know what they are doing so it can't be that bad. So there we were, with the hope that the food will be superb, we went in.

The first dissappointment was when we were asked to sit at the table inside the stall - which is located very near to the place where they grilled the fish and the kitchen. We were practically stucked in the middle, in between grilling station and the kitchen. Can imagine? Wa wa wei... very uncomfortable - with the smoke and all. Gosh - they should seriously think of the logistic of the tables in it.

The fish selection is not much, but then again it looks fresh enough so we chose prawn and a small golden snapper. We chose butter prawn and "ikan tiga rasa", and added kangkung belacan as well. It's kind of too much for the two of us but it wasn't too bad because we didn't really eat rice that night.

The first food served to us for the night was what supposed to be 'butter prawn'. But what was served in front of us was fried prawn in scrambled egg with overflowed butter. Since when the butter prawn looks like that ? It was a real disappointment. It wasn't even close to being butter prawn! And when our ikan tiga rasa arrived, I have no mood to take pictures already. Very disappointing. How tiga rasa supposed to taste? I can only taste chilli sauce in that dish.

Mr D said that we might as well ordered fried fish and fried prawn, that will definitely taste better since the seafood items loos fresh. Deep frying it could be a better option. It was the chef who ruined the taste. I can definitely cook better.

Hmm.. it is about time for the owner of this stall to think of searching for a better chef. The current one they have will not bring their business to the next level. Dissappointing!

Thai Food @ La Kasturi USJ 8

I just love Thai food. Luckily we can easily get it around KL, either in posh restaurants or just some stalls in the food court. But when it comes to stalls type of Thai food around Subang Jaya, I love this stall called La Kasturi, located at the food court behind the Metro Bus depot in USJ 8. A very simple stall, nonetheless the quality of the food is good considering the cheap price. I think Mr D and me visit this stall perhaps every week.

The owner, as I understand it to be, is from Pattani. Hence, you can expect to have quite an authentic southern Thai taste served on your table. The owner and their children are very friendly, and they speak Thai to one another, though they speak in Kelantanese dialect with the customers. The service is quite fast, you can expect the food to be served on your table within 10-15 minutes if there's not many people around, unless you order something fancy like steamed fish and all.

La Kasturi has quite a number of varieties of method of cooking for fish, but, the picture above is our favorite - steamed seabass in lime juice - siakap stim limau. A very simple dish, with not many ingredients in, but very refreshing. I think siakap is the best selection of fish for this dish. It is hot, it is sour, it is sweet at the same time. Very simple yet very nice. Speaking of fish, I've tried ikan goreng halia but I think that's not their speciality - it was quite a disappointment then. So we better stick to Thai type of fish, but their sweet and sour is nice though.

And this is another favorite of mine - seafood kerabu. I do sometimes order kerabu sotong as well. Very simple dish but it is one of the best simple kerabu I've ever tasted. I do sometimes ask for lime steamed squid as well, it tasted almost the same but I think the kerabu taste better.

And this nasi goreng ladna is my favorite of all. I love nasi ladna but it is kind of difficult to find nice nasi ladna around. But for those who love nasi ladna, try to come to La Kasturi. To me, their nasi goreng  ladna is the best. Simple, yet the soup is very tasty. Mr D loves it as well.

The other thing about La Kasturi is their vegetable selection. How many stalls around Klang Valley include asparagus and broccoli in their menu? La Kasturi, despite being a small simple stall, has that in their vegetable selection. I love asparagus with prawn, though the asparagus used is kind of baby in size.

But like all other stalls, there are probably some items which needs improvement. Its kailan ikan masin for example, to me, includes too much salted fish. Similarly, its 'pedas' selection e.g sotong / udang pedas, is kind of too oily though the taste is nice. I haven't tried their tomyam though, so I can't comment on that.

Kuih Muih @ Tanjung Lumpur

Everytime I am in Kuantan, I must buy kuih-muih @ Tanjung Lumpur. The choices of kuih in Kuantan is of course not as much as what is offered in Kelantan, but in Kuantan, Tanjung Lumpur is the place if we want to buy East Coast's type of kuih. There are 2 stalls I normally visit if I go to Tanjung Lumpur for kuihs, that is Karipap Panas Peramu and Gerai Mokna.

Karipap panas Peramu

Karipap panas Peramu is famous for its karipap. This stall is located in Kampung Peramu. It is easy to find this stall, just drive from Kuantan, through the bridge to Tanjung Lumpur straight through until we can find U-turn where u U turn and can find the stall on your left.

This stall is famous for its karipap. It sells variety of karipap like Karipap Daging, Karipap Ayam and such. The size is slightly bigger than the normal size we can find here in Kuala Lumpur, but is is sold at 50 cent per piece. The karipap is nice, though don't expect to find meat in your karipap though the name suggests it. I think the portion of the meat perhaps is so insignificant that I never find it in the karipap all the time. I can only see potato.

There are quite a number of other varieties of fried items sold here as well, ikan celup tepung, goreng pisang and all. And if we thought of eating something heavier, nasi lemak, mee goreng and nasi minyak is available as well.

 Gerai Mokna

This is another place I will visit if I want to find fried items or East Coast type of kuihs. There are variety of kuih choices we can find here, from cik mek molek to kuih bakar to akok and all. The akok is not as nice as what is sold in Restoran Molek in Shah Alam though. Perhaps because that is pure Kelantanese one.

There are also fried items sold here.. with a more variety of choices because it covers from the goreng pisang, to fried balls, to fried seafood items. I like fried seafood items no matter where it is sold. Here in Gerai Mokna, we can find fried sotong, fried crab, fried prawn on top of the fried fish. And the best part of it is the kerak lah kan... kerak tu yg kalo makan tak sedar dah makan sepiring. Very dangerous indeed!

Mee Calong Beserah

I always heard about mee calong from my brother and my sister-in-law, my brother loves it very much. Mee calong is supposedly very famous in Kuantan, especially in Beserah area. But the fact remains, I didn't know how mee calong looks like despite the fact that I am married to a 'Kuantan'ese. Not for a week, not for a month, but we will be celebrating our 10th year anniversary very soon! And when I suggested to Mr D to visit any mee calong stall last weekend when we were in Kuantan, he admitted that he didn't know what mee calong is. Even my mother-in-law never tasted mee calong her whole life.

So to satisfy my curiosity, we googled, and found a direction to go to one of the stalls selling mee calong in Beserah. It is called Joe Warung Mee Calong & Keropok Beserah. This stall is located at Kg Alur Tuan Haji, not far from Petronas at KM8 Kuantan - Kemaman. This stall is just a simple stall, and apart from mee calong, it also sells keropok lekor and nasi kukus as well. There's an option for mee calong, either you want it with the yellow stick noodle, or the normal meehoon or vermicelli.

We reached the stall in the morning, it was about 10am then. I haven't had any breakfast, so it became our brunch that day. So what I can say about mee calong, it is like mee soup, but with an addition of fish balls, keropok lekor and stuffed tofu. It is eaten with special chilli sauce, soy sauce and pepper. But I think makan dengan sambal kicap lagi best kot. I think the soup is made of maybe fish or prawn stock. Taste wise, yeah, I like it because I love clear soup. But it is not so fantastic to make me dream of it the way my brother feel.

Room Service Deliveries

There are many ways people turn something to become a business opportunity. Buka kedai makan tu memang biasa, tapi ada juga yg menjadikan service tukang tapau makanan as a business opportunity. At my office dulu memang one thing a must is order for delivery, sebab bila dah balik tengah malam harus lah kena dinner kat ofis kan, harus kena order sebab tak ada siapa nak keluar tengah-tengah busy ni. Tapi kalau nak order for delivery ni, bosan kalau asyik-asyik pizza, McDonald etc. Boleh naik muntah kalau hari-hari makan fast food for dinner.

So apart from having the fast food delivery as an option, selalu lah kami guna Room Service ni kalau terasa taknak makan fast food. Click kat the link tu, it is directed to its website. Konsep Room Service ni, is they have a number of participating restaurants we can order from, all we need to do is to order it from either Room Service's website, or can call Room Service directly using the number displayed in their website and they will deliver it to us. Diorang ni bukan hanya operate di Malaysia, but also kat Singapore and Indonesia.

I normally just order through their website, senang sebab dah register.. so just click here and there to order from the menu, wait for their call within 5 minutes to confirm the order, and just wait for them to send me the order 1 hour later. Senangkan?

Hari ni saya tak pergi kerja.. walaupun tak pergi kerja, angin malas tetap melanda. Jadi hari ni decide nak order guna Room Service je, senang cerita. Ada banyak restaurant we can choose from, nak nyonya ada (e.g Penang Village), nak western ada (e.g Chilli's, Kenny Rogers, TGI Friday), nak melayu ada (e.g Kelantan Delights), nak arabic ada (e.g Tarbush).. pendek kata, tepuk dada tanya selera.

Hari ni saya order from Kelantan Delights. Tak pernah makan kat sini, though selalu nampak the restaurant located at Wisma Consplant. Terasa nak makan kelantanese food hari ni, so order Nasi Gulai Kawah dan Nasi Kerabu Ayam Percik.

Oh.. tapi semua service ada chargenya kan? The charge for Room Service's delivery range from RM12-RM20 per delivery, depending on location. Mahal ke? Kalo masa rajin dia jadi mahal, tapi kalo masa malas, reasonable lah charge tu :)

Pavlova @ Serai

Mr D's favorite dessert is pavlova. Perhaps because of years he spent in New Zealand, and because his foster mother the late Mrs W was good at baking it. Even when we were in New Zealand last September, he was asking for pavlova whenever we stop by at any bakery (but we can't find it). Amazing huh.. pavlova is the national dessert of New Zealand (which they fight with Aussie to claim it is theirs), but yet we can't find it easily sold throughout our 2 weeks stay there.

The other day we dropped by at Serai @ Empire Gallery Subang Jaya, and ordered pavlova (looks like it is much easier to find it in KL than in NZ hahaha). My review of it, it is edible, though that's not the best pavlova I've eaten. It is a bit too sweet, but it is OK. Comparing to the chocolate pavlova in Delicious, Serai's is slightly better.

Dinner @ Sri Thai

The final Saturday of Ramadhan this year, and we will be heading to our hometown on Sunday. So since both me and Mr D were too busy throughout Ramadhan and didn't have time to have our iftar together most of the time, we thought of having our iftar together on Saturday. We initially thought of buffet iftar at Grand Dorsett Subang Jaya, but was told that it is already fully booked till Sunday. Same thing with Sari Ratu Subang Parade. That's the price we have to pay for arranging things last minute. It was too late to cook at home since we've just came back from our shopping, so Mr D suggested to have our dinner at his favourite Thai restaurant, Sri Thai.

Sri Thai is located just across PJ Hilton, on the same row with Victoria Station. As this is Mr D's favorite, it is always the choice once we run out of idea of where to eat. One thing good is, Sri Thai's pricing is very reasonable, as compared to many upper class Thai restaurants. My favorite Thai restaurant is Sri Ayyuthaya Damansara Heights [I specifically mention Damansara Heights because other Sri Ayyuthaya branches are damn lousy], but Sri Ayyuthaya is too pricey. The price can easily double what is charged by Sri Thai [while the food quality and quantity is not doubled haha]. And we don't normally find any problem to park at Sri Thai, except yesterday the place was super duper busy we can't even find a parking place! We thought everybody gone back to kampung already for eid!

We've decided to break our fast at Mr D's office first, and only going off to Sri Thai after our maghrib prayer. So we booked the place at 8p.m. We went overboard yesterday, ordering 5 dishes for the two of us, really against the spirit of Ramadhan. But thought it is OK once a while, since we have been controlling our food since the beginning of Ramadhan so we just wanted to pamper ourselves today. A must in Thai restaurant is of course tom yam. We ordered seafood tom yam, which contains squid, prawn and crabs. Taste wise it is nice, but it has a lot more cili padi than the seafood itself. We practically have to scan the tom yam to avoid biting too much cili padi and eating too many coriander leaves.

I am the type who will choose seafood over chicken or beef when it comes to Thai food, so our main dish is of course fish. We chose siamese style steamed seabass, a sweet and sour version of their steamed selection. They have another steamed selection, that is Bangkok style which I don't really favor. Siamese style has very clear gravy which I love - and to couple it with seabass it is just perfect! It is not easy to 'overcook' seabass so we will always have tender fish meat even if it is put on fire a little bit too long. Like this one, it was boiling like mad half of the way while we were eating, but it still tasted right.

See.. I told you we really pampered ourselves this time. The third dish is a must dish whenever we are in Sri Thai, none other than butter prawnnnnnn!! Mr D's all time favorite, and Sri Thai never fails us, it tasted good each time. Sri Thai's butter prawn has superior quality compared to Sri Ayyuthaya. I have tasted Sri Ayyuthaya's butter prawn, it can sometimes be a little bit too soggy. The art of eating butter prawn is when you can enjoy the egg coating, but when you have soggy egg coating, the fun is gone. Sri Thai has among the best egg coating I've ever tasted - crispy, tasty and not too oily.

One thing about Mr D is he loves kerabu mango very much to the point of madness. I noticed he will order kerabu mango every time he sees kerabu mango listed on the menu. It doesn't matter whether it matches the other food selection, he still goes for kerabu mango. As expected, he ordered it this time - again. Kerabu mango in Sri Thai is OK, though it is not the best kerabu mango I've ever tasted.

And since I have to have my greens every time I eat, then we MUST go for another vegetable selection. I love broccoli as much as Mr D loves his kerabu mango, so broccoli it is. It is stir fried with black mushroom, a little bit of a disappointment I would say.The gravy was too oily, it was to the point of tasteless. But since I do sometimes take my steamed broccoli just like that, it didn't matter to me much.

So what was the verdict? See the picture below... gemuk eaters are happy eaters! Yeah..

Supper @ Pak Li Kopitiam

I started to know about Pak Li Kopitiam early this year after Mr D was brought to here by one of his staffs. He came back telling me that the food in Pak Li Kopitiam is acceptable and we can mark this as one of our supper places - see that? Supper. What a bad habit, but that's what you can do when you go back from office in the middle of the night every night kan?

Pak Li Kopitiam actually located in several places, but the one we often visited is at Sek 7 Shah Alam. The port for UiTM students, so when you are there you will be surrounded by youngsters [and that can make you feel young perhaps?]. We even buy the privilege card as we go there quite often, so might as well. I have certain things I like and dislike in Pak Li Kopitiam, so I wouldn't say the food is all that great. But for certain things like Nasi Goreng Kampung, yeah.. I like it. And sometimes we are just searching for places to sit down, eat simple food and see other people's behavior.

And perhaps because it is quite easy to order there that's why we come quite often. My problem with many Malay restaurants is the waiters can sometimes be a bit deaf. Ordering can be a bit of hassle sometimes. In Pak Li however, they provide menu at the table complete with order paper and pencil, so we can just state what food we want by writing in the food code as stated in the menu. Then we can call the waiter to pick up the order, and they will repeat back what we order by saying the food name, I think that is a measure to ensure we are writing the correct code.

Since I was quite hungry that night, Nasi Lemak Special was my choice. Pak Li Kopitiam serves 3 types of Nasi Lemak, that is Nasi Lemak Special, Nasi Lemak Kari Ayam and Nasi Lemak Rendang Ayam. I love Nasi Lemak Special because of the prawn sambal and the fish floss [I think it is fish floss], but I hate the chicken curry. There's a strange thing in its taste I can't explain why. I've tried to ask them whether I can change the chicken curry to chicken rendang when I order Nasi Lemak Special, but they said it is not allowed. Wish they can be more flexible like Madam Kwan where changes are allowed to suit our own taste bud.

And Mr D opted for Lemon Chicken Rice. The first time we ordered this, it was too dry. But this time they are quite generous with the gravy so Mr D loves that.

Pricing wise, it is quite cheap. Lemon chicken rice only cost RM5++, and nasi lemak special is about RM8.. so all in all there's nothing much we can complaint about.. you get what you pay lah kan hahaha.

Iftar @ Decanter

It was a last minute decision to have our iftar (me and my office mates) together today. Since 90% of them are chinese (me and only me is a Muslim) then we perhaps should call it 'dinner' instead. Since it was a last minute decision, so most places are fully booked during iftar time. We finally decided to go for Decanter which is very near to my office, was told there's buffet for RM55/pax.

Reached Decanter at about 7:15pm, but it wasn't full yet. They've just opened the buffet section. I've never tried buffet in Decanter, it has always been the a-la carte version. So I didn't know what to expect for their ramadhan buffet.

Turn out I think their specialization is probably their BBQ section. We have to choose the fresh seafood, put it in plate with cloth peg stating our table number on its side and let the crew do the grilling before sending it to our table. The selection of fresh seafood was not wide enough, they just have some squids, prawns, mussels, stingray, baby pomfret, and perhaps the highlight of it all - baby scallops. Nothing to be bragged about, quite plain I would say.

Other than the BBQ, the spread is pretty dull I would say. If you want to eat rice, there's rice, but accompanied by limited number of dishes. The cold selection is really 'cold' and not tempting. There's some pasta as well but again, pretty dull. I ended up going round and round finding what to eat but found nothing to match my appetite, I ended up settling for BBQ as the main.

So basically, if you are looking for a well wide buffet spread, this is not the place. It is OK, but it is not great, and certainly not value for money. We perhaps will find better spread in some hotels at that price, or just add another RM10 perhaps to get a much wider with better quality buffet spread. I certainly will think twice before booking their buffet again next time.

Chicken Kurma @ Secret Recipe

Since I normally go back late from office everyday,I have this habit to go and have my dinner at Secret Recipe Pusat Bandar Damansara. The food is not that great, frankly, but I just love the ambience. It gives me time to be alone.

But I haven't visited Secret Recipe since early Ramadhan, and when I insisted to have my dinner tonight at Secret Recipe, I noticed a new menu, just specifically for Ramadhan. Chicken kurma served with white rice and acar. The verdict? Not bad lah, though perhaps mamak's one nicer hahaha..

The chicken is accompanied by the normal diced potato and tomato. The acar is the normal Secret Recipe's acar, which has quite a clear and strong vinegar's taste [I like it but it is a big no no for Mr D]. The portion is quite big though, just like the portion for their green curry and asam chicken, which I think is enough for 2 pax.

Dinner @ D' One Steak

Plan asalnya malam ni nak dinner di Big Plate, tapi Mr D balik rumah dah pukul 9pm, jadi rasa macam tak sempat dah nak ke Big Plate. Melencong ke Section 7 Shah Alam, cari D' One Steak. Baru dua kali makan kat sini, ala-ala western food yang simple yang biasa served kat Malay restaurant. Bolehlah... not bad.. edible.

D' One Steak ni jenis open concept, maknanya sistem pengudaraannya pun datang dari angin di luar dan juga ceiling fan. Boleh duduk di bahagian luar, boleh duduk di bahagian dalam. Suasana agak bising juga lah, ye lah kan tepi jalan, and in between the restaurant dengan the next restaurant tu ada macam lorong kecil yg kereta lalu lalang. Kalau rasa-rasa nak berdating tu, di sini bukanlah tempatnya :)

Order drink, Mr D mintak pineapple juice, saya mintak barli suam. Kenapa baik hari ni tak minum ais? Sebab tekak dah merah dan batuk dah tak terkawal. Kalau tak memang tak sedar diri minum ais hari-hari.

Bila saya minum je barli tu, terus saya angkat tangan mintak waiter tu bawakkan air suam lagi segelas. Tahap manisnya macam nak potong kaki, dah campur setengah gelas air suam pun masih manis juga lagi. Memang lah government patut hapuskan subsidi gula :)

Ni food yang Mr D order.. lamb chop yang sampai cepat. Tapi kata Mr D :

Mr D : This is not lamb, this is sheep
Mrs D : How do you know?
Mr D : the level of fat indicates it is sheep
Mrs D : Oh.. OK

Saya tak tau betul ke tak, pandai je Mr D ni macam dia pernah kerja rumah sembelihan pulak. Maknanya yang dalam pinggan tu dah terlebih umur lah tu ye. Harga ni sepinggan RM13++, Mr D komplen kentang rebusnya kecik sgt sebesar wedges KFC sekeping.

Punyalah lama tunggu my order, orang meja sebelah yang datang kemudian pun dah dapat order mereka. Mr D dah habis makan lamb chop baru saya nampak grilled fish ni. Nasib tak menggigil kaki tangan tunggu food tak sampai-sampai.

Saya order grilled fish, mereka guna ikan dory. Served with chips, coleslaw, a slice of cucumber and tomato. Harga ni dalam RM8++ tak silap. Okeylah fish tu, tak hanyir. Tapi dory mana hanyir pun kan?

Apa lagi saya nak komplen? Oh.. tak ada salt and pepper atas meja. Mana boleh dekk... nanti macam mana nak adjust rasa kalau chef tersilap letak perasa? Haa.. lain kali letak salt and pepper atas meja eh.
So verdict nyer?
Condition kedai : 6/10 - panas sampai berpeluh-peluh. Or mungkin sebab saya memang tengah demam.
Food presentation : 5/10 - sadis.. tengoklah comot tu pinggan.
Food : 7/10 - okeylah edible, kalau bertanding dalam kategori western food murah, ada harapan lah.
Boleh datang lagi? : Boleh lah.. kalau rasa-rasa tak tau nak pergi mana nak makan.
Harga : 9/10 - Cukup puas hati

Esok-esok, ada rezeki, boleh try food lain pulak yer.
